Rand Paul publishes Anthony Fauci's diary entries before a congressional hearing.
Sen. Rand Paul released 1,141 pages of pandemic-era diary entries by former NIAID director Anthony Fauci ahead of Fauci’s scheduled Senate committee appearance on Wednesday. The entries include January 2020 notes on early discussions about COVID-19’s origin and fatality rate, as well as later reflections on school closures, masking, lockdowns and internal disputes in the Trump administration. Paul and conservative commentators said the journals conflict with Fauci’s public statements, while other coverage highlighted entries in which Fauci criticized Trump’s pandemic management and described a chaotic federal response.

Mostly RightFauci’s diaries reveal a self-absorbed official who craved celebrity, managed his image, and enjoyed the status the pandemic gave him. He was not the careful, apolitical scientist he presented to the public, but a dishonest power-seeker whose conduct deserves condemnation and accountability.
PR And Media
Mostly RightFauci cultivated friendly media and public-relations allies while ordinary Americans were told to avoid normal social contact. Journalists, CNN figures, and prominent Democrats protected and flattered him, helped polish his image, and attacked or belittled his critics.
Lockdown And Masks
Mostly RightFauci supported or celebrated lockdowns, school closures, and mask guidance even when the evidence was weak or the measures had failed. His diary undercuts his later denials of responsibility and also implicates Republican officials who backed the shutdown approach.
