The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Paramount Skydance agreed in a court filing to delay closing its roughly $111 billion Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition until five days after a merits ruling in pending antitrust litigation, or until June 1, 2027, whichever comes first. Twelve state attorneys general led by California’s Rob Bonta sued to block the deal on antitrust grounds. The agreement supersedes a temporary restraining order and removes the need for an immediate preliminary-injunction fight while the case moves toward trial. The Writers Guild of America has filed a separate legal challenge.
