Eugene Mirman Hospitalized After Fiery Toll-Plaza Crash

Eugene Mirman was hospitalized with serious injuries after his car struck the Bedford Toll Plaza on the F.E. Everett Turnpike and caught fire on March 31, and a trooper on Gov. Kelly Ayotte's security detail and bystanders pulled him from the vehicle.

New Hampshire State Police identified the driver as Yevgeny Mirman, 51, and said the vehicle became engulfed in flames after the northbound car struck the toll plaza.

Col. Mark Hall called the rescuers' actions "heroic," and Mirman's agent Jay Glassner said Mirman thanked bystanders, state police, first responders and hospital staff and is grateful to be on the mend.

Mirman is known for voicing Gene Belcher in more than 300 episodes of Bob's Burgers and its movie, and the single-car crash prompted lane closures for hours with several lanes reopened by 5 p.m., authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation, no charges have been filed, and Mirman was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he is recovering, his representatives said.
