The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said the nationwide cyclosporiasis outbreak is “under control,” saying federal investigators identified a source and that companies involved had implemented a recall. The FDA separately said it is investigating a new Cyclospora outbreak with 72 illnesses, has not identified the product, and has begun traceback work, making it one of at least four active outbreak clusters. Cases have been reported in at least 41 states, with rates still rising in five CDC-designated outbreak states, putting 2026 on track as the worst U.S. year on record for cyclosporiasis.
