Mittens the Cat's Accidental Journey: A Tale of Unforeseen Flights

Mittens, an eight-year-old Maine Coon, traveled unexpectedly from New Zealand to Australia after her cage was overlooked on an Air New Zealand flight. During a distressing 24 hours, she completed three flights before being reunited with her owner, Margo Neas. Air New Zealand has since apologized and will reimburse the travel costs. The airline attributed the incident to human error, citing a stowed wheelchair that obscured the view of Mittens’ cage. Although Mittens lost some weight, she avoided serious harm and returned demonstrating increased affection for her family.
