Stade Welfare Center Shooting

A gunman opened fire Monday at a youth welfare facility in Stade, northern Germany, killing six adults and wounding others, police said. The facility, located near Hamburg, provides services and temporary housing for pregnant women and young mothers with children. Authorities arrested the suspected shooter, and some reports said investigators were examining whether the attack stemmed from a child custody dispute. Police said five victims died at the scene and a sixth later died from injuries, with reported victim counts including four women and two men connected to the center or affiliated organizations.
