The NYPD is searching for a masked gunman who opened fire at a July 4 family barbecue in Brooklyn’s Coney Island, wounding eight people, including four children. The shooting was reported around 10:35 p.m. in the 2900 block of West 30th Street, near Surf Avenue and the boardwalk. The victims included men ages 37 and 33, women ages 25 and 21, and boys ages 14, 12, 7 and 6; the 21-year-old woman was critically wounded. Police said a gun was recovered near the scene.
