Boos Erupt As Lawler Defends Trump's Iran War At Town Hall

Rep. Mike Lawler faced sustained boos while defending Trump's war in Iran at a Mahopac High School town hall, and one man was escorted out after calling for impeachment, according to reports.

Sunday's 90-minute event was Lawler's third town hall of 2026 and his seventh public forum since President Donald Trump's second term in office, according to reports.

A constituent shouted "You must impeach... You're all cowards" to cheers before security removed him, while Lawler told hecklers, "We're in a high school auditorium, and high school students act better," according to reports.

Lawler voted against a war powers resolution and said Congress can intervene if the conflict drags past a 90-day deadline that will be reached on May 29, according to reports.

Lawler was slated to hold another town hall later this year in Dutchess County, though date and location have not yet been announced, according to reports.
