Erika Kirk Cancels TPUSA Appearance After 'Very Serious Threats'

Erika Kirk canceled her planned appearance at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Georgia on Tuesday after organizers said she received "very serious threats."

Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet filled in on stage with Vice President JD Vance, who said he consulted his Secret Service detail before deciding the event should proceed.

Erika Kirk posted on X that she heeded her security team's recommendation, and Vice President JD Vance publicly defended her and criticized those attacking her since her husband's killing.

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed during a college campus event in Utah in September, and prosecutors plan to call the accused gunman Tyler Robinson's parents and his roommate and romantic partner, Lance Twiggs, at a May 18 preliminary hearing.

Officials have not released additional details about the threats against Erika Kirk, and the episode has intensified scrutiny of online attacks against her.
