The Senate voted 50-48 to approve a concurrent War Powers Resolution directing President Donald Trump to end U.S. hostilities against Iran unless Congress authorizes further action. Four Republicans joined Democrats, giving the measure passage after the House had already approved it and making it the first war powers resolution passed by both chambers against Trump. Because it was structured as a concurrent resolution, it does not go to Trump for signature and has no binding effect. Trump said the vote made ongoing Iran negotiations more difficult.
