Actor Patrick Dempsey said Wednesday he will not run for the U.S. Senate in Maine, ending speculation that he could be a Democratic replacement candidate if Graham Platner leaves the race. In a Portland Press Herald op-ed, the Lewiston native wrote that he gave a potential campaign real thought but concluded the answer was no.
