The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach officially became President Donald J. Trump International Airport on Thursday, with signs and branding changing and the FAA transitioning its location identifier from PBI to DJT. The rename was required by Florida legislation signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in March, after a Senate vote reported as 25-11 in late February. The airport estimated the transition will cost $5.5 million for signage, branding, technology systems and printed materials. Trump Force One made the first landing under the new name at 5:06 a.m.

Improper renamingLeans Left

Renaming Palm Beach International Airport after Donald Trump is an improper vanity project facing serious local opposition. Trump and his allies are using political influence or dismissive rhetoric to push the change instead of taking voters’ objections seriously.
