The U.S. Mint has begun producing a new $1 commemorative coin featuring President Donald Trump for the United States’ 250th anniversary, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced Wednesday. The gold-hued coin shows a forward-facing portrait of Trump with “In God We Trust” and “1776-2026,” and Treasury says it is scheduled for release this fall. Treasury said the final design was approved earlier this year by the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, whose members were appointed by Trump. Members of the reviewing committee said they had not seen the version Bessent unveiled.
