The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said late Tuesday that the city lacks legal authority to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits for the U.N. General Assembly in September. Mamdani had pledged during his campaign to enforce an International Criminal Court warrant for Netanyahu, but now says federal authorities should act on it. Sen. John Fetterman criticized Mamdani on “Hannity” Wednesday, saying the threat appealed to the fringe and urging him to focus on city issues.

Mamdani’s stance toward Netanyahu exposes a hostile and biased posture toward Israel. His critics see his comments as antisemitic or anti-Israel posturing that excuses terrorists while targeting the Jewish state.
