The reporting
President Donald Trump’s administration expanded Cuba sanctions on Aug. 20, targeting nine state-owned mining, metals and construction companies as part of its economic pressure campaign. The measures also cover Cuba’s construction ministry and extend U.S. restrictions on transactions with government-owned or affiliated businesses by Americans who travel to the island. The State Department sanctioned Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples leaders Fernando González Llort, Noemí Ramona Rabaza Fernández and Leima Martínez Freire.
