Trump Iran War Stalemates

Six months after U.S. and Israeli forces began strikes on Iran on Feb. 28, the war has settled into an armed and diplomatic stalemate with no ceasefire or settlement in sight. Trump had described the operation as a “little excursion” lasting weeks, but now says he is in no hurry while continuing to claim U.S. goals have largely been met. Iran’s government remains in power despite heavy losses, and talks over its nuclear and military programs have stalled. The conflict has disrupted Gulf shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and kept U.S. gasoline above $4 a gallon.
