The reporting
The WNBA’s task force of team presidents and general managers met virtually Wednesday to discuss transgender athlete eligibility but adopted no new rules. After the meeting, the league said there are “no immediate eligibility matters” affecting the WNBA and denounced “bad-faith efforts” to use the topic to demean or marginalize others. The discussion followed public claims by two former NBA players that they were eligible for the league. UConn coach Geno Auriemma urged Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to steer attention back to basketball, while Sam Ponder called for eligibility clarity.
