Antonio Brown Takes Plea Deal

What happened

Antonio Brown has agreed to a plea deal in his Miami attempted-murder case. The deal is expected to spare him prison and reduce the charge to aggravated assault with probation. The case stems from a May 16 altercation outside a celebrity boxing match in Miami. Prosecutors say Brown took a security staffer’s handgun and fired at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, whom he had fought earlier. They say a bullet grazed Nantambu’s neck, and Brown faced up to 30 years if convicted. Brown, a former All-Pro NFL receiver, says he acted in self-defense under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. Brown is due in court Sept. 30 to finalize the deal.
