Meta on Wednesday released Muse Spark, the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs, and made it available on the web and the Meta AI app.
Meta said Muse Spark is natively multimodal, can reason on science, math and health questions, and uses a parallel multi-agent "Contemplating" mode for harder tasks.
Meta said it collaborated with over 1,000 physicians on health training data and ran third-party evaluations, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said future models may be open source.
The launch follows Meta's major hires and investment in Scale AI around Alexandr Wang, with sources citing roughly $14 to $14.3 billion invested and stock gains of about 8% to almost 9%.
Meta said Muse Spark will roll out to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger in the coming weeks, offer a private API preview to select partners, and add features and larger models later.
