Overview
A federal judge on April 8 sentenced Jasveen Sangha to 15 years in prison after she pleaded guilty in connection with Matthew Perry's death.
Sangha pleaded guilty last September to five federal counts including maintaining a drug-involved premises and multiple counts of distributing ketamine, one resulting in death or serious bodily injury.
Perry’s stepmother Debbie Perry urged the maximum sentence in a victim impact statement, and prosecutors said Sangha continued selling ketamine after learning it had contributed to Perry’s death.
Prosecutors said Sangha sold roughly 50 to 51 vials of ketamine to Perry through his assistant, and four other defendants have pleaded guilty with two doctors already sentenced.
Two defendants, including Erik Fleming and Perry’s assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, have yet to be sentenced and legal proceedings related to the investigation are ongoing.
