Daniel Kinahan Extradited to Ireland

Daniel Kinahan, 49, was extradited from Dubai to Ireland on Sunday on an Irish government plane and appeared hours later before Dublin’s Special Criminal Court. He was charged with directing the activities of a criminal organisation between 18 October 2015 and 6 April 2017. Irish authorities allege Kinahan led a transnational network involved in drug smuggling and money laundering with operations linked to Britain, Spain and the U.S. His return followed court proceedings in the United Arab Emirates and a major security operation in Dublin.
