The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Rescuers in eastern Indonesia recovered six more bodies Sunday after a magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck Saturday, raising the death toll to 53. More than 130 people were injured, many with broken bones, and about 5,000 residents were evacuated from damaged areas. The quake hit near Flores, killing at least 24 people in Manggarai regency and 17 in East Manggarai, with deaths also reported in Sikka, Ngada and Ende. Aftershocks, landslides and blocked roads slowed crews searching collapsed buildings and debris for survivors.
