Today, an Iranian commercial vessel was struck by an unknown projectile near Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian state media said one person was killed. Four others were wounded, and it identified the dead man as Jamshid Rajabi. UKMTO said a fire broke out onboard and local authorities were helping evacuate crew. Qeshm’s governor said 10 crew members were aboard and an investigation was underway. IRNA quoted him blaming a “terrorist enemy,” without naming a perpetrator. The U.S. military had not immediately commented.

It said Iranian forces had opened fire on three commercial ships, while Gen. Ahmad Vahidi denied advance knowledge. MS NOW highlighted Pezeshkian’s warning that Iran “won’t surrender.”
