The reporting
Nvidia announced Thursday that it will acquire Hugging Face, the New York-based open-source AI developer platform, for $12.93 billion. Hugging Face hosts about 3 million AI models, 500,000 datasets and 1 million applications, and says more than 18 million developers, researchers and creators use its service. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Hugging Face will remain an open platform supporting open-source and open-weight models after the takeover. The deal moves Nvidia further into AI software and model distribution alongside its chip and data-center business.
