The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Dolly Parton’s estate announced DollyFest, a two-day festival honoring her life and legacy, to be held in Nashville and London across two consecutive weekends in 2027. The estate said specific dates will be announced later, and the event will replace a traditional public memorial, which longtime business partner Danny Nozell said Parton did not want. The festival was originally planned for January 2026 in Nashville around her 80th birthday, with Parton expected to host and perform. Parton died of cancer last week at 80 and was buried Aug. 28 at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville.
