Taylor Farms Recalls Jalapeños

Taylor Farms said on August 9 it voluntarily recalled more than a dozen prepared foods containing jalapeños — including salsas, guacamole, dips, salads, sandwiches and burritos — after supplier Coast Citrus Distributors recalled fresh jalapeños over possible Salmonella contamination. The products were distributed through major retailers including Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods and Target across more than two dozen states. Federal officials have linked fresh jalapeños to a multistate Salmonella outbreak that has sickened 345 people in 27 states and hospitalized 36. The jalapeño recall follows Taylor Farms’ earlier recall of iceberg lettuce tied to a five-state cyclosporiasis outbreak.
