GOP Senators Release Fauci Texts

On Aug. 10, Sens. Ron Johnson and Rand Paul released 11 January 2021 texts from Dr. Anthony Fauci’s government-issued phone, drawn from more than 34,000 records, about COVID-19 vaccination guidance for pregnant women. The messages show Fauci, the surgeon general and the CDC director discussing how to weigh benefits against potential risks. Fauci raised a theoretical first-trimester miscarriage concern tied to fever and cytokine responses after a second mRNA dose. Days later, he publicly said thousands of vaccinated pregnant women had shown “no red flags.”
