Yosemite Helicopter Crash Kills Two

Two people were killed when a helicopter crashed during wildfire suppression work on the Dome Fire in Yosemite National Park. The crash happened Sunday afternoon as crews fought a fire that had burned more than 3,000 acres. The Dome Fire was about 15% contained by Monday, with rugged terrain slowing suppression work. The aircraft was a Eurocopter AS332L1 operated by Precision, a contractor working for the U.S. Forest Service. Fire officials said about 580 personnel were assigned to the response. Precision said it was devastated by the loss of two team members and asked for privacy for their families and crew. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
