ICE resumed vehicle stops under new guidance requiring at least one officer at each stop to wear a body camera, after a DHS pause triggered by fatal shootings in Maine and Texas. The cases involved Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, killed in Biddeford, and Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, killed in Houston. Trump rejected the pause on Truth Social, and the White House said stops would continue. The Maine shooter was identified as ICE officer David Michael Brouillette; family members and records describe past violent behavior and serious mental health issues.
