The reporting
The Democratic National Committee in Austin on Saturday approved two conflicting resolutions on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, one calling to abolish the agency and another calling to reform it. Both measures had passed out of committee Thursday and were adopted unanimously as part of a broader resolutions package sent to the full membership. The votes exposed a split among Democrats over how to respond to President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown before the midterm elections.

Democrats have committed to abolishing ICE rather than merely reforming it. The DNC vote is evidence that the party has shifted toward a far-left agenda aligned with DSA-style priorities.
