Iran, Oman Reach Hormuz Deal

Iran and Oman have agreed to temporarily reopen the Strait of Hormuz through a joint navigational corridor while negotiating a permanent arrangement over the next several months, Iranian officials said. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said the two countries also reached a revenue-sharing framework for administering the waterway, including their respective shares of proceeds. Tehran said the strait will remain closed until the U.S. lifts its blockade or meets the Islamabad memorandum’s terms, accusing Washington of obstructing the deal. Iran’s deputy foreign minister said military vessels would be barred under the potential arrangement.
