The Missouri Supreme Court unanimously blocked Missouri’s Republican-drawn congressional map from being used in the November election and ordered a statewide vote on whether to approve it. The ruling means the state will use its previous 2022 congressional districts, which favor Republicans 6-2, instead of the new plan that would have favored Republicans 7-1. The blocked map, backed by President Donald Trump, would have dismantled Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver’s Kansas City-based district. The referendum campaign, People Not Politicians, submitted more than 305,000 signatures to force the vote.
