The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

OpenAI on Tuesday launched ChatGPT for Teens, a dedicated ChatGPT experience for users ages 13 to 17 that is automatically applied to teen accounts. The version adds parental controls, break reminders, Study Mode for step-by-step school help, and an option for new teen accounts to disable human-like voice responses. OpenAI said the teen experience restricts higher-risk content, including around self-harm, eating disorders and emotional dependency. The rollout also builds on age prediction tools meant to identify under-18 users.
