Greece Helicopter Collision

Two crew members were killed when two firefighting helicopters collided midair while battling a wind-driven wildfire west of Athens, Greece, sending one aircraft crashing near the Psatha/Porto Germeno area. The dead were a Danish pilot and a Greek fire service liaison officer aboard one Bell helicopter. A British pilot and a Greek coordinator on the second helicopter survived and were taken to hospital. The aircraft were operating in western Attica as gale-force winds pushed fires toward settlements northwest of Athens and forced evacuations in Greece.
