The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Two people died on Sunday on the Greek island of Salamina, near Athens, after two fires broke out almost simultaneously and forced more than 500 people to evacuate. About 200 firefighters were deployed to stop the fires from converging on the island, which was under high wildfire risk. In eastern Belgium, firefighters battled a High Fens/Hautes Fagnes nature reserve wildfire that has burned more than 27 square kilometers and more than doubled in size in 24 hours. About 600 residents in Waimes and Bütgenbach evacuated Saturday.
