Jason Arday Found Dead

Jason Arday, 41, a former University of Cambridge professor of sociology of education, was found dead at an address in south London on Friday; police said the death was unexpected but not suspicious. Arday had resigned last week after weeks of media scrutiny over plagiarism allegations and questions about his academic record, allegations he denied. His family said he had faced “sustained abuse” and described him as a “gentle man.” Prime Minister Andy Burnham said the case should prompt “reflection.”
