The reporting

A neutral summary of the key facts most outlets agree on, drawn from reporting across the political spectrum.

Iran launched missile and drone attacks on U.S. military sites in Kuwait and the UAE early on Sept. 3, saying it was retaliating for U.S. strikes inside Iran on Sept. 1. Kuwait said its air defenses were intercepting hostile targets; Iran said it hit hangars, warehouses and communications systems at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base. Iran said the U.S. strikes killed 18 people and wounded 108, including four killed and 67 wounded at a wedding in Sirik. Vice-President JD Vance said the U.S. is investigating the wedding claim but is “extremely skeptical” of it.
